mi_gebaeude1Source: TUM We dedicate our work to research and education on managerial decision and planning problems as well as on the foundations of auctions, social choice, and game theory. We conduct theoretical and experimental research and collaborate with industry partners in these fields.

Current research topics include market design, algorithmic game theory, computational social choice, and discrete optimization in various applications.

As part of the coursework for the Seminar on Data Mining, the student team "Tera Miners" has qualified for the world finals of the 2020 Teradata Data Challenge. The team "Legendary Data Miners" has received an honorable mention.
The BISE journal achieved an impact factor of 5.837 and a 5-year impact factor of 7.6. It is now one of the highest-ranking journals in the field by IF.

Ágnes Cseh (Hungarian Academy of Sciences) will give a talk on Optimal Kidney Exchange with Immunosuppressants in our seminar on February 18, 2020 at 5pm.
Dirk Briskorn (Bergische Universität Wuppertal) will give a talk on Grantry Crane Scheduling in Seaports on February 12, 2020 at 5pm.
Martin Bichler and Felipe Maldonado co-organize a workshop on electricity market design on March 25 in Augsburg. Participants include Endre and Mette Björndahl (NHH), Peter Cramton (Cologne), Karsten Neuhoff (DIW), etc.
Felix Brandt has received the TUM TeachInf Award 2019 for the best elective course in computer science (Computational Social Choice).
Our group organized the joint reception of the BISE journal, the WISE and WITS conferences at Nymphenburg Palace with Paul Milgrom as keynote speaker. The event was followed by a two-day conference in the H4 hotel in Munich with Wl van der Aalst as keynote speaker. Co-organizers of WITS were Martin Bichler and Wolf Ketter. 
Felix Brandt has joined the board of TopMath (an elite doctoral program in mathematics within the Elite Network of Bavaria).
Anaëlle Wilczynski has received the Prix Jeunes Chercheurs 2019 de la Fondation Dauphine for her PhD thesis.

M. Bichler will be a keynote speaker at the IFORS conference in Seoul, South Korea. IFORS is the peak body for Operations Research societies worldwide, and the conference is the world-wide meeting taking place every three years.
During the 81st Annual Meeting of the German Academic Association for Business Research, Layla Martin was awarded the "Best Master Thesis Award" by Junior Management Science for her thesis supervised by Paul Karaenke and M. Bichler.

The BISE journal (EiC M. Bichler) reached an impact factor of 3.6 for 2018, one of the highest scores in its field, and more than 288,000 downloads. 
Call for papers for the Workshop on Information Technology and Systems (co-chair M. Bichler) is out! Paul Milgrom (Stanford Economics) and Wil van der Aalst (RWTH Aachen) will be keynote speakers for the conference. There will be a joint reception at Nymphenburg Palace with the WISE conference and the BISE journal.
